Went to Singapore with my sister's family. It was an "animal-filled" trip. On the first evening we were there, we went to the Night Safari. It was fabulous. We took the tramp instead of walking. The animals seem so close to us, the enclosure not quite visible. It was waaaaaaaayyyy better than the night safari at zoo negara. It's in a different league all together actually.
On the second day, we went to the Underwater World. That was a disappointment. I was expecting so much more. I like our own Aquaria better. On our final day, we went to the zoo.. i love it. Beautiful treks, lined with luscious greenery, and again, the enclosures are so well hidden, that you almost feel like walking side by side with some of the animals. Hafiy slept in his stroller for some parts of the visit, just as he did during the night safari animal show.. oh well, i guess when you need to snooze, you need to snooze.

Julia comes to visit
|
|
|
Yani and Chris are in town for Eid. They came over to my place with their daughter Julia who's about a month older than Hafiy. I have never seen Hafiy so generous with his toys with any other kids. He lets Julia play with all his toys, no complaints. Anak Melayu depan rumah tak kasi share, anak Mat Salleh, senang hati je bagi main..
He must have been really smitten by her because a days after their visit, he brought me my digital camera and asked to see Julia's photos (Mama, Doo-ya, Doo-ya). He's starting young.. risau, risau..

This year is Hafiy's 3rd Eid. He's 2 years 3 months this Eid.
On the eve of Eid, Ridhwan and I went out in search for a Baju Melayu for Hafiy...not our first attempt. We had initially thought that he could still wear the one we bought last year because it was plenty oversized when we bought it, turns out he's grown a lot since last Eid. We managed to get him one, complete with sampin, which he flatly refused to wear, choosing instead of wear a bucket hat with his baju melayu .. oh well..
On the first day of Eid, we all gathered at my parents place for Eid prayers at the nearby masjid and Eid feasting right after. Later, we drove to Kuala Pilah to my paternal grandma's house. Hafiy slept most of the way.. Alhamdulillah, otherwise i would have to deal with a lot screaming from him, asking to be taken out of the child seat.
Hafiy had a lot of fun balik kampung. So much space for him to run around, chicken and cats to chase after, cookies to sample, etc.
We were back in KL on the evening of 2nd Eid.
Ridhwan and I had taken the rest of the week off. So we spent the time visiting relatives and taking Hafiy to the Night Safari at Zoo Negara (not such a great experience) and to Aquaria (which we enjoyed very much). Well, that's pretty much it. Lots of eating and lots of jalan-jalan.

Hafiy's 2nd Birthday
|
|
|
Hafiy is 2!!! Invited some neighbors over and the usual suspects (atuk, nenek, tok mama, tok baba, aunties, cousins, uncles). Hafiy was asleep in the early part of his party, until Atuk woke him up. Huh, nasib baik bukan jenis grumpy bila kena kejut.. sengih2 je bila nampak his playmate.
Tried my hand at fondant cake. Wanted to make a red car, but ALAS! *&%@#$$ .. coloring murah.. it just wouldn't get dark enough, although it said 'red' on the bottle. So pink it is. Had loads of leftover food. Must insist on RSVP next time. Nasib baik hubby had a potluck at his office the next day, so off went the leftovers.
Can hardly believe it, my baby is now an official toddler...snif, snif
